Morleys - 15 Year Relationship Continues to Blossom

Established in 1929, independent furniture wholesaler Morleys, based in Oxfordshire, has over 85 years of experience specialising in wholesaling furniture for educational establishments. For the last 15 of those years, Morleys has been the sole distributor for leading disability charity Enham Trust’s successful Social Enterprise Mount Industries.

Competitively priced school and office furniture

Mount Industries has been manufacturing quality, competitively priced furniture for over 40 years. With more than 120 designs available throughout the range, Mount Industries provides schools and businesses with a wide variety of solutions to meet their requirements; also able to accept bespoke requests.

“Originally, we were just looking for a supplier of tray units,” explains Morleys’ Buying Manager Mike Winyard. “And Mount Industries were recommended to us by Gratnells as a reliable manufacturer.”

Working with a Social Enterprise

As a Social Enterprise of Enham Trust, Mount Industries makes a valuable contribution to the success of the charity and provides the Trust’s disabled and disadvantaged clients with sustained employment opportunities.

“Working successfully with a Social Enterprise is important to us,” Mike remarks. “It’s great to know that we’re contributing to a vital charitable cause whilst supplying the highest quality products available to our customers.”

Since the two businesses began working together almost 2 decades ago, the relationship between Morleys and Mount Industries has continued to grow; whilst so too has the range of products they’re able to offer.

“When we began working with Mount Industries, we started with around 8 pages of their products in our catalogue,” Mike continues. “Now we have over 20! Mount Industries is in our top five biggest suppliers.”

Bespoke, high quality range

Regularly working together to achieve unique product ranges and bespoke designs for schools, Mount Industries and Morleys have developed an exclusive range known as ‘Primary Choice’.

“Primary Choice has proved to be Morleys’ most sort-after product,” Mike goes on to say. “We regularly work closely on designing products together; Mount Industries are really flexible and reliable – I can go to them with a bespoke design, confident that they’ll be able to produce it in good time, to a high standard.

“We very rarely have clients come back to us regarding issues with the products that Mount Industries produce, it’s of A1 quality – we even offer a five year guarantee.”

Using sustainable materials

Sustainability in business and using sustainable materials has never been more important than it is today and Mount Industries takes its responsibility to achieving environmental sustainability seriously.

“The boards used in Mount Industries’ products are sourced from FSC sustainable forests,” Mike explains. “Being a UK-based business also helps contribute to the sustainability aspect.”

After 15 years of working together, the relationship between Morleys and Mount Industries has never been stronger, with both businesses planning a long future together.

“I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t work together for the foreseeable future.”
